Admissions to the BE Hons) degree programs are made in November 2017 to enable admitted students to start their studies in December 2017. Admissions are made purely on the merit of students as indicated by (a) marks in Matriculation Exam, and (b) marks in the MIIT Entrance Exam. The various steps in the Admissions Process are given below.
Applicants for admission to the BE (Hons) degree programs must make an application on a prescribed Admissions Application Form. This form can be obtained in person or by post from

Prescribed application forms are likely to be available in October 2017, following an announcement in a newspaper (in Myanmar and in English), and also on this website.
The MIIT Entrance Exam will be conducted in November 2017. The exact date of the exam will be provided along with the prescribed application form. All eligible applicants will also be informed of the date of entrance exam separately. The date of the entrance exam will also be announced in this website.
The entrance exam is for a duration of 2 hours. Applicants will be required to answer 100 multiple-choice questions covering Matriculation level Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language. The entrance exam is designed to evaluate the applicant’s level of conceptual understanding and problem solving skills. Since 100 questions are to be attempted in 120 minutes, the speed of attempting questions is also important.

An offer for admission to one of BE (Hons) CSE or ECE will be made based on the applicant’s merit and his/her preferences for CSE/ECE. The merit percentage is calculated as a weighted average of marks in entrance exam, and marks in matriculation exam. A merit list is drawn based on the merit percentage of all applicants in the descending order. An applicant is drawn from the top of the merit list, and admission offered to BE (Hons) CSE or BE (Hons) ECE based on availability of seat and applicant preference. Then the next applicant in the merit list is considered. This goes on till all the seats available are allocated. At present, there are 60 seats for BE (Hons) CSE and 60 seats for BE (Hons) ECE.
Applicants offered admission will be informed, and would be required to accept the acceptance and complete some admission formalities by the stated deadline.
Applicants who accept the admission offer, complete the admissions formalities and report to MIIT on 1st December 2017 will become students of MIIT. A special Orientation Program will be conducted on 1st December 2017. In this orientation programs, new students of MIIT will be informed about the educational system, the curriculum, the courses, the grading method, etc. It is compulsory for all newly admitted students to be present in MIIT on 1st December 2017, do the admission formalities and attend the orientation program.
The classes will begin for the newly admitted students on 4th December 2017.
