Biography

Ganesh R. Sinha completed his B.E. in electronics engineering and M.Tech. in computer technology with a Gold Medal from the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, India. He pursued his doctoral studies in electronics and telecommunication engineering at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, India.

Before joining MIIT, Dr. Sinha was working as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering and as Dean (Internal Quality Assessment Cell) at CMR Technical Campus, Hyderabad, India. He is currently a member of the MIIT Senate and has been a visiting professor at Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Colombo for the last one year (2019-20).

Dr. Sinha has more than 200 research papers, edited books, and books to his credit. He has edited books for several reputed international publishers, such as IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer. He is an active reviewer and editorial member of more than 12 reputed international journals in his research areas.

Dr. Sinha has been delivering ACM lectures across the world since 2017 as an ACM Distinguished Speaker in the field of DSP. He served as a Distinguished IEEE Lecturer in IEEE Bombay section. He is an IEEE Senior Member, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (India), and a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India). He has delivered more than 50 keynote/invited talks and chaired technical sessions in international conferences across the world.

Dr. Sinha has been teaching and conducting research in his discipline for more than 21 years. He has supervised 9 PhD scholars and 15 M. Tech. scholars. His research interests include biometrics, cognitive science, medical image processing, computer vision, outcome-based education (OBE), and using ICT tools to develop employability skills.
