- Enable students to understand different kinds of writings
- Strengthen sentence structures
- Enable students to build longer texts, and build and take part in dialogues
- Distinguish between formal and informal communication
- Develop reading and listening comprehension skills that will help the students increase the use of cognitive strategies to build knowledge from text and lectures

Course Description
- Passive voice: giving simple directions and instructions
- Simple, complex, and compound sentences
- Converting short dialogues into narrative passages
- Contracted forms
- Homonyms and homophones
- Descriptive writing
- Letter writing (formal, informal, e-mail)
- Reading and listening comprehension
