Bachelor’s Degree Programmes of MIIT
What are the various bachelor’s degree programmes offered at MIIT?
MIIT offers two bachelor’s degree programmes:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Computer Science & Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Electronics & Communications Engineering
Students who graduate from MIIT will receive the B.E. (Hons.) degree in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE).
What is the duration of the B.E. (Hons.) degrees?
The B.E. (Hons.) degree programmes are designed to be completed in 5 years, that is, 10 semesters and 5 Special Terms.
Eligibility for Admission to B.E. (Hons.) Programmes
What are the eligibility requirements for admission to the B.E. (Hons.) programmes?
The following are the eligibility requirements for admission to the B.E. (Hons.) programmes:
- Applicants must have passed the Matriculation Exam of Myanmar in the year in which they are applying for admission
- Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and English should be subjects in the Matriculation Exam
- In addition, there are other administrative requirements, like having a valid NRC. When you are filling out the prescribed application form, a complete checklist of the requirements will be given
- Applicants will have to appear in an entrance exam that will be conducted by MIIT
Can a person who has passed the Matriculation Exam earlier than the year of admission also apply?
No. A person must have passed the Matriculation Exam only in the year in which they are applying for admission. Those persons who have passed the Matriculation Exam earlier are not eligible for admission.
Application Process
How can one apply for admission to the B.E. (Hons.) degree programmes?
Prescribed application forms are available at the Office of Student Affairs, MIIT. Applicants should fill the details in the prescribed application form, and submit it along with a number of attachments. The application form lists the copies of various certificates that need to be attached.
Can we submit the application forms through email?
No.
Can we submit the application forms online?
No. At present, there is no facility to submit the application form online.
Do we have to come to MIIT in Mandalay in order to submit the application form?
Not necessary. You can send the application form, along with all the attachments, through post to:

There are two branches of study being offered – CSE and ECE. How can I indicate my preferences?
You can indicate your first preference and second preference for the branches CSE and ECE in the prescribed application form.
Suppose I want to apply for only one of the branches, but not the other. Can I do so?
Yes. For example, you can say that my first preference is for ECE, but I do not want to apply for CSE. You can do this by marking a ‘X’ against the preference for CSE. If you do not want to apply for ECE, you can mark a ‘X’ against ECE. But think well before you cross out a branch. Once you have filled out your preferences, you cannot change them.
When will the announcement for applications be made?
Normally, the announcement for applications will be made in the month of June/July. Applicants will have to complete the application form and submit it by the end of August.
