How to reach?

Mandalay’s strategic location makes it an important transport hub. The city is well-connected to the rest of Myanmar and the world at large.

Mandalay has an international airport, with daily direct flights to Thailand (Bangkok and Chiang Mai) and China (Kunming), and weekly direct flights to Singapore and several destinations in Chaina, including Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Xi’an. Other international destinations are all easily reachable through a layover in Bangkok. Several domestic airlines connect the city to the rest of the country. From the airport, it is a 45-minute drive to MIIT. Both shared taxis and private options are available.

Several bus operators serve the needs of customers who are more economically-minded. Luxury, ordinary, and public buses ply daily between Mandalay and other major cities, including but not limited to Bagan, Yangon, Pyin Oo Lwin, Taunggyi, and Lashio.
